BOY SCOUT SUNDAY

CINNAMON ROLL SUNDAY

CAN/BOTTLE DRIVE Sunday, February 12 from 3-5p at the church garage on 4th Street.   Proceeds from the drive will go toward the youth mission trip this summer. 

FOOD DONATION
The second weekend of the month is food donation weekend.    Please be a part of this wonderful ministry by dropping off your canned goods and/or other nonperishable items in the basket in the Narthex.  

DISABILITIES AWARENESS COLLECTION
Disabilities Awareness Sunday is to be observed February 12, the second Sunday of the month, to celebrate the gifts and graces of persons with disabilities and promote their full inclusion in the community. One hundred percent of the offering collected is retained by the Iowa Annual Conference to provide grants to local churches that will assist in removing architectural and attitudinal barriers to accessibility.

CHANGES IN CRAZY LOVE STUDY GROUP
The Crook’s Wednesday evening study group for Crazy Love has now joined with the Rathmel’s study group.   Both groups will now have combined meetings at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays in EFH. 

CHANGE OF LOCATION
Rebecca’s Circle meeting on February 16 has been changed from EFH to Park Lane Assisted Living.

WHAT’S NEW?  
Can you spot anything new at the FUMC main entrance? 

DEVOTIONAL BOOKS
There are Lenten devotional books from the Society of St. Andrew available in the church office or on the church office window ledge. 

ASH WEDNESDAY
A special Ash Wednesday Service will be held at FUMC on Wednesday, February 22 at 7:00 p.m.

LAY LENTEN DEVOTIONALS
Beginning Wednesday, February 29, there will be a light meal served in WFH from 5:45-6:30 p.m. followed by a 30 minute devotional presented by FUMC lay speakers from the lectionary series “Call Him Savior”.   These Lenten devotionals will continue subsequently each Wednesday of Lent through March 28. 

NOON ECUMENICAL LENTEN SERVICES
Also, beginning Wednesday, February 29, from noon to 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of FUMC, pastors from local churches will give a 30 minute Lenten Devotion followed by a light lunch served in WFH.  The ecumenical services will continue through March 28.


ONGOING NEWS…

HELPING HANDS KIDS CARNIVAL

The Helping Hands Kids Carnival fundraiser will be held on Saturday, February 18th, in the Middle School gym.  There will be inflatable rides as well as many other community organizations providing activities for the kids.  All proceeds go to the Helping Hands Food Pantry.

We are family friendly with a well equipped nursery, a full play room, and bathroom for your use.  Please feel free to use our family oriented nursery.   These areas are sound proof from the sanctuary, but you can turn on the speakers and hear the service if you would like.  Large print bulletins are available for the 8:30 service.
