HEIFER PROJECT
Heifer’s mission is to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the earth.   By giving families a hand-up, not just a hand-out, we empower them to turn lives of hunger and poverty into self reliance and hope.   A special collection is taken the fourth weekend of every month. 

YOUTH GROUP
Sunday 4-6 in WFH and Youth Room.

F.U.N.
F.U.N. will be holding a meeting on Sunday, October 28th at noon.  Lunch will be served.  Anyone interested in F.U.N. activities are invited to attend.  Hope to see you there. 

POPCORN Sales!
During the month of October, the Cubscouts of Knoxville Pack 362 will be selling Trails End popcorn.  This is the biggest fundraiser for the Cubscouts during the scouting year.  We will have a representative present after first and second services this Sunday, October 28.  This will be the last chance prior to submitting orders on Monday.  For additional information, please contact Max or Trey Purvis ph. 641-842-5887.

THE NEED FOR TRANSFORMATION
Vermeer Charitable Foundation invites you to an evening with Dr. James Bryan Smith, theology professor and Director of The Apprentice Institute on Christian Formation.   This free, public event will be held Tues., Oct 30,at 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Vermeer Global Pavilion.  More information can be found at www.vermeer.com.

WATER MAIN BREAK - Unfortunately, our Church’s main water line broke in mid-September.  To date we have received $6317 in donations from OUR church family.  An additional $8840 is needed to cover the cost of this unforeseen, large repair.  Please mark the enclosed love envelopes “Water Main Repair” or the memo line of your check to contribute to help make up for this unexpected deficit in our 2012 budget.  Thank you.

WHERE TO NOW TRAVEL ALERT: 
We are planning an outing to visit our STATE CAPITOL on FRIDAY OCT. 26.  We will leave First Church at 10:15 a.m., have an 11:30
lunch at Baratta's Cafe (third floor of the State Historic Bldg.)  then proceed to the Capitol Bldg. for a 1:30 guided tour.  Both buildings have elevators on all floors.  Calling committee will contact you soon for reservations.  If you would like to be added to our calling list, phone Christa at 842-5452.
