NEW AT FUMC…

  • MEALS ON WHEELS…FUMC is scheduled to deliver Senior Nutrition/Meals on Wheels September 30th -October 25th.   Each day has four routes and meals are to be picked up at 11:00 a.m. from the Senior Center. Each route takes approximately 30-45 minutes to complete.  It is ideal to have 2 persons per route, but a driver alone would suffice.  Signup sheets for volunteers to deliver the meals are located on the table in the main entry way of the church. This important service could not continue without volunteers such as yourself!
  • NURSERY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED…Volunteers Volunteers are needed to staff the nursery during the Sunday service.   If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the church office.
  • NEIGHBOR HELPING NEIGHBOR FUNDS NEEDED…As one of our missions, First United Methodist Church helps to support Neighbor Helping Neighbor with a pledge of $4000 per year.  This is paid each month from the funds given to our Neighbor Helping Neighbor Mission.  Gifts to Neighbor Helping Neighbor this year are not meeting our pledge.   Through God’s grace and your support of Neighbor Helping Neighbor, many people are helped as they struggle with job loss, payment of utilities, and many other issues.   Please consider a gift to this important mission.  Please mark your check memo and/or envelope to identify this purpose.
  • HELP WANTED…Volunteers are needed to help lead Children’s Church.  Five, four member teams are being put together to lead Children’s Church.  By having five teams, no one will have to miss church service every week and your help will be needed just once every 5 weeks.  If you would be interested in helping with this great service to our youngest FUMC family members, please let the office know.  Vicki Novak has been gracious enough to agree to coordinate the efforts and each team will have a leader that helps get the materials to the rest of the group.  We are excited to be able to offer this to the children that attend FUMC.  Again, if you would like to help, please let the church office know.
  • HAND BELL PRACTICE…Seasonal hand bell practice will begin Wednesday, September 25th at 5:30 p.m. in the bell choir room.   Everyone interested in trying is welcome.  For more information call Bonnie at 641-828-8750.
