ORGAN PRELUDE

+CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader:    Come, all who are anxious or burdened. This is a time to

               experience good news.

People:   This is God's house, and we can meet God here. We

               are brought together in the family of God.

Leader:    Come with expectancy and anticipation. God is present

               to greet you and change your life.

People:   We are here to remember the ministry of Jesus. We

               have come to be equipped for our ministry.

Leader:    In our eager waiting, there is fullness of joy. In our preparation for worship, we discover life.

People:   Unless God is the shaper of our lives, we live in vain. Unless we view our city as God's own, there is emptiness here.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Lord, in our busy, hectic lives, we’re constantly on the move. We’re in a constant state of “hurry up and wait.” At this moment, we confess that too often we’re in a hurry for the wrong things: career, power, money. And we never stop for the right things: prayer, kindness, service, worship. Lord, you have given us so much - even your life, utterly and completely. So we stop and confess all the ways we have been confused as to when we are to stop and when we are to go. Amen.

WORDS OF FORGIVENESS
God has given us the ultimate green light. In Jesus’ suffering, death and resurrection, God has removed all the stops. We are free to live full lives without fear, for God has broken the chains of sin and death. God tells us to go — go into the world and tell of his awesome power and love. For once you, too, were bound in fear but are now released.
