FOOD DONATION - The second weekend of the month is food donation weekend.    Please be a part of this wonderful ministry by dropping off your canned goods and/or other nonperishable items in the basket in the Narthex.

HURRICANE SANDY
In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and the severe weather that struck east coast, UMCOR, is seeking donations to help the victims and survivors.  To donate to this, Hurricane 2012, UMCOR Advance # 3021787, make your checks payable to First United Methodist Church and put “UMCOR # 3021787” in the memo area of the check.

NEW THIS WEEK!

THANKSGIVING BASKETS
The FUMC is partnering with Helping Hands to make sure that our friends and neighbors have an opportunity to enjoy a Thanksgiving Day meal.  Donations may be made at the office or dropped in the offering plate. 

SALVATION ARMY BELL RINGING

The bell ringers will begin ringing during the Living Windows in Knoxville on Thursday, November 15th and will continue throughout the Christmas season.  Signup sheets are available in the Narthex. 

F.U.N. FALL HARVEST DINNER
Everyone is invited to our annual Fall Harvest Dinner, as we thank Him for His many Blessings.  The dinner will be Saturday, November 17, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in East Fellowship Hall.  A free will offering will be accepted to support Montgomery Street Preschool and (F.U.N.).

COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING SERVICE
A community wide Thanksgiving Service will be held on Sunday, November 18th at 7:00 p.m. at FUMC Sanctuary with refreshments to follow in WFH. 

THE JOURNEY
In our church's Advent preparations we are studying the book The Journey by Adam Hamilton.  The preaching series begins the weekend December 1 & 2. We have a limited number of copies of the book available for purchase at the church for the discounted rate of $11.33.

POPCORN Order Pickup!
Knoxville Pack 362 cub scout popcorn orders will be available for pick up at the church Sunday, November 11.  We will have a representative present after first and second services to distribute the popcorn.  For additional information, please contact Max or Trey Purvis 641-842-5887.

We are family friendly with a well equipped nursery, a full play room, and bathroom for your use.  Please feel free to use our family oriented nursery.   These areas are sound proof from the sanctuary, but you can turn on the speakers and hear the service if you would like.  Large print bulletins are available for the 8:30 service.
