COMMISSIONING OUR YOUTH MISSION TRIP

Pastor: Church youth and sponsors, you are called by
God to serve others and to live out your faith in the community.  Will you work at discerning and developing the gifts that God has given you so that you can be faithful to your calling, trusting God to guide you and equip you as you serve Him?
Participants:  With the help of God, we will.
Pastor:  Will you be a coworker with God, seeking to transform Littleton, CO., so that God’s kingdom is restored and everyone in Littleton benefits?
Participants:  With help of God, we will.
Pastor:  Will you strive to show the love of God to all, to work in His love alongside those you serve, and to serve God through your relationship with Littleton?
Participants:  With the help of God, we will.
Pastor:  Congregation, please stand.  As the body of Christ, we are called to support our young brothers and sisters as they serve God.  People of God, will you pray for these youth and adults and will you support and encourage them through words and deeds?
Congregation:  With the help of God, we will.
Pastor:  Let us pray together:
All:   Lord, we are each called to serve Your kingdom.  Help us as we serve together to support one another, to share our lives, and to work to see Your kingdom come, we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

The congregation may be seated.

PEACE FOR FATHER’S DAY

Pastor: We are commanded to honor our father and
  our mother.
People: We will honor our father and our mother
for bringing us into this world.  We thank God for
our parents, and today, especially for our fathers.
Pastor: We thank God for how He loves us and how
He sets for us the example of parenthood.
People: We pray that whether our parents are here
with us still or with You, that You might bless them.
Pastor:  Forgive as we forgive any failings that they
have had and bring them to Yourself and hallow all the good You have placed in them.
People: Lead them in righteousness with cords of
human kindness and ties of love now and forever.  Lord, we ask You to make us better parents and to help us follow Your good example in all things.
Pastor: We thank You, O God, for caring communities.
People:  Where mothers fill in for fathers and
fathers fill in for mothers, we thank You for grandparents, for aunts and uncles, and for those who are even no kin at all who make our communities a safe and loving home.
All: May the young people in our families be
blessed and gain the desire to walk in Your ways,
the ways of righteousness.  Bless us all, and continually keep us in Your tender care.  Father, bless all families.  We pray this in the loving name of Jesus the Christ.  Amen.
