MARCH 2-3, 2013

ADDITIONAL PRAYERS:  Chuck Walter, Mike Sullivan, Cheryl Hennefeld, Jim Grimes, Larry Scott, Doris Werts, Mandy Branson’s Dad, Susan Scott, Phyllis Barnett, service people and families.

CONDOLENCES:  Condolences to Bev Steger and family on the passing of her sister.

COMMUNION - The United Methodist Church has an open communion.  All are invited to join in the celebration of God’s love!

ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING - One Great Hour of Sharing makes all of the other United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) programs possible. The One Great Hour of Sharing offering supports the administrative costs that underwrite the United Methodist Committee on Relief.  This means that by giving faithfully to the One Great Hour of Sharing offering, all contributions to UMCOR go to the specific project and not administrative costs. UMCOR is the humanitarian arm of The United Methodist Church. OGHS gifts underwrite UMCOR’s “costs of doing business.” That means every penny of every gift you make to a specific UMCOR project will be spent on that project—not on home office administrative costs.

NEIGHBOR HELPING NEIGHBOR - A special collection is taken the first weekend of every month.  These funds go through the Neighbor Helping Neighbor office to help community needs.   Please mark your check memo and/or envelope to identify this purpose to contribute.

New Member Class Sunday 9:35-10:30 WFH

Youth Group Sunday 4-6 WFH/YR

Dear Family and Friends,
Words cannot express my gratitude and thankfulness to your words of encouragement and the prayers. May God bless you all. Cheryl and Brian

Beginning Wednesday, February 20, there will be a light meal served in WFH from 5:45-6:30 p.m. followed by a 30 minute devotional presented by FUMC lay speakers from the lectionary series “Following The Way”. These Lenten devotionals will continue subsequently each Wednesday of Lent through March 20th.

We will be having an all-church potluck at 5:00 Saturday, March 9 in West Fellowship Hall.  This is to welcome our guests from Sheldon United Methodist Church who will be presenting the Living Last Supper at 7:00 in our church that evening.  Please bring a couple of dishes as we will be having about 40 extra guests from Sheldon. Paper plates and cups, silverware, and drinks will be furnished.  We look forward to your attendance to welcome this group to our church.
LENTON DEVOTIONAL BOOKS There are Lenten devotional books from the Society of St. Andrew available in the church office or on the church office window ledge. This year, the Society of St. Andrew’s Lenten devotion booklet is entitled “How Beautiful” based on Romans 10:15b,“How beautiful are the feet of those who bring Good News!”

GOOD FRIDAY DAYCAMP REGISTRATION Good Friday Day Camp registration forms are available in the church office.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITYWanted: First Church attenders to volunteer for rewarding 2 year term on Habitat for Humanity’s local Board. Meetings are the 4th Monday of each month evenings – excluding Dec.
