HEIFER PROJECT

Heifer’s mission is to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the earth.   By giving families a hand-up, not just a hand-out, we empower them to turn lives of hunger and poverty into self reliance and hope.   A special collection is taken the fourth weekend of every month.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

Mark your calendars now for a special weekend! To kick off our Sunday school year we will be having a joint Sunday service on September 9^th at 9:30 am.  Come for a special service full of music from Central College’s Flying Pans followed by food and activities on the lawn.

 

CHURCH OFF CLOSED

The church office will be closed on Monday, September 3 for the Labor Day Holiday. 

 

MEALS ON WHEELS DELIVERY

FUMC is scheduled to deliver Senior Nutrition/Meals on Wheels September 24^th-October 19^th.   Signup sheets for volunteers to deliver the meals are located on the table in the main entry way of the church. Thank you for your participation in this valuable program.  

ITEMS NEEDED

We are in need of lawn games and volleyball nets to be borrowed by the church for our Rally Day event on September 9^th.   Please contact the church office if you have any we can borrow for this event. 

VOLUNTEERS FOR NURSERY

Volunteers are still needed to staff the nursery.   There are timeslots and dates still available through October.   Please consider volunteering for this important ministry.  Signup sheets are located in the Narthex. 

UMW

Friday, Sept. 14, we will have the South Central District Annual Meeting at Bloomfield.  Registration and coffee are at 8:00 with the meeting starting at 8:30.  We will car pool from the church.  I need to know how many are going so that we can send in our reservations for lunch, which is $7.  Please call Pat Haning (842-2790) by August 31 for reservations.

We are family friendly with a well equipped nursery, a full play room, and bathroom for your use.  Please feel free to use our family oriented nursery.   These areas are sound proof from the sanctuary, but you can turn on the speakers and hear the service if you would like.  Large print bulletins are available for the 8:30 service.
