HOSPICE:   Nancy Park (Bright Kavanagh House, 3000 Easton Blvd, DSM) and Alfred Jones (receiving hospice care at Park Lane Assisted Living).

ADDITIONAL PRAYERS:  Irl Clarke, Vivian Nash, Doran VanRheenen, Norm Chrisman, Doris Dykstra, Lela Todd, Betty Tonda, Alberta McMulin, Tom Tucker, service people and families. 

CONDOLENCES:  Condolences to the family of Wilda Long on her passing.

WHERE TO NOW TRAVELERS
The “Where to Now” travelers are planning a return trip to Humeston, Iowa on Thursday, October 13.  We will have lunch at the “Grassroots Gallery and Café” followed by shopping at the famed “Snyder’s Store”.   We will leave the church at 10:00 a.m.  Van transportation cost will be $4.00 per person.  Don Wickliff will be our driver with Jack Sterling as our back up if we need two vans.  We expect the autumn leaf colors to be at their peak as we travel south to our destination.   Calling committee will phone for reservations.   If you are not on our calling list, and would like to be, phone Christa at 842-5452.

LOVILIA UMW GUEST DAY LUNCHEON
The Lovilia United Methodist Women invite the women of the church to their Guest Day Luncheon.   It will be held at noon, Thursday, October 13, 2011 in the Lovilia Community Building.   The program will be given by Merrill Baker.  He will tell of his visit back to Korea, where he served his country during the Korean War. 

COC ANNUAL CORPORATION MEETING
The annual meeting for the purpose of electing board members, receiving the annual report, a vote to amend the Articles of Incorporation and receiving the financial summer from Fiscal Year 2010-2011.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  Those who have contributed at least $1 directly to COC during the 12 month period ending 10/01/2011 are corporation members and have voting privileges.   The meeting will be held Thurs., Oct 20 at COC Conference Center in Pella.   RSVP to Diane at dmitchell@christianopportunity.org or 641-628-8087 x 108.

We are family friendly with a well equipped nursery, a full play room, and bathroom for your use.  Please feel free to use our family oriented nursery.   These areas are sound proof from the sanctuary, but you can turn on the speakers and hear the service if you would like.  Large print bulletins are available for the 8:30 service.
