THIS WEEKEND

HEIFER PROJECT
Heifer’s mission is to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the earth.   By giving families a hand-up, not just a hand-out, we empower them to turn lives of hunger and poverty into self reliance and hope.   A special collection is taken the fourth weekend of every month.

VBS – SON SURF BEACH BASH
Sunday, July 24 through Thursday, July 28 as that is VBS week at FUMC.  The kids will be participating in a fun beach party themed event as they learn about God and his love for us.   New this year will be an evening meal each night.  The meal will be served in West Fellowship Hall from 5:30 to 6:00 each night with VBS festivities starting at 6:00 pm in the sanctuary.  VBS is open to all children ages 3 through those that have completed 5th grade.  Invite your friends, neighbors, and family members to this great event.

NEW THIS WEEK!

KAMA OFFICE
KAMA is now open on Monday and Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

FARMERS MARKET
FUMC is participating in the local farmers market on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon.   Please consider donating excess garden produce and plants as well as volunteering to help staff the booth on Saturday mornings.   This is an important outreach for our church.  Please contact the church office if you can help.

LOOKING FOR USHERS
Looking for men and women who are interested in becoming ushers for the 8:30 a.m. service.  Traditionally, ushers are men, but ushers today are men, women, teenagers, and children.   Ushers greet people before and after service, distribute bulletins, communicate Christian love, open doors, seat people, receive the offering, help strangers feel at home, represent Jesus and His love, and accept all people. Ultimately, the object of the usher’s service is to God.  If you are interested in ushering please contact the church office or Jack Crook.  Also, if you attend Saturday or the 10:45 service and are interested in ushering, please let the office know too.   Thanks.

THANK YOU
Thank you for all the cards we received at the time of my brother, Corwin Mott’s, death.   Abe and Sally Synhorst

Thank you to Peace Tree Brewing for donating the keg of root beer to the Celebrate the Son event.

Thank you to Smitty’s for providing the inflatables for the Celebrate the Son event at a reduced rate.

Thank you to Leona Steele for making the new curtains downstairs.

Thank you to Diane Crowell for setting up a Facebook account for FUMC.
