We are family friendly with a well equipped nursery, a full play room, and bathroom for your use. Please feel free to use our family oriented nursery. These areas are sound proof from the sanctuary, but you can turn on the speakers and hear the service if you would like.

Large print bulletins are available for the 8:30 service.

Daily Devotional (Upper Rooms) – Both regular print and large print are available at each entrance. A suggested donation of $1.00 each is appreciated.

SPECIAL CHARGE MEETING
At the request of the Trustee’s our D.S. Rev. Bill Poland has authorized a special Charge Conference for Tuesday September 28th at 7:00 pm for the purpose of designating bequests funds. We will be voting to allow be the trust to use undesignated bequests funds to tuck point the Education addition.

BIBLE PRESENTATION
The 3rd grade Bible presentation will be Sept. 26 at the 10:45 service with an orientation class at 4:00 p.m. that afternoon in the East Fellowship Hall

UMCOR Responds To Iowa Flood

MEALS ON WHEELS…SIGN UP NOW!
First United Methodist Church is scheduled to deliver meals to home bound & elderly in the Knoxville area through Knoxville Senior Nutrition Home Delivered Meals (Meals on Wheels) from September 20th to October 15th. Each day has four routes and they are currently providing meals to 59 people on a daily basis. It is ideal to have 2 persons per route, but a driver alone would suffice. Be a Good Samaritan to one in need, signup sheets are in the entry way outside the sanctuary west doors at the church. You may also contact the church office via e-mail or phone if you are interested in volunteering to help deliver meals.

KAMA
As one of our missions, First United Methodist Church helps to support KAMA with a pledge of $4000 per year. This is paid each month from the funds given to our Neighbor Helping Neighbor Mission. Gifts to Neighbor Helping Neighbor this year are not meeting our pledge. Through God’s grace and your support of Neighbor Helping Neighbor, many people are helped as they struggle with job loss, payment of utilities, and many other issues. Please consider a gift to this important mission.

NEXT STEP CONFERENCE EARLY BIRD DEADLINE EXTENDED

First Team at REC Center?
If you are interested in playing adult volleyball on a 'Mixed Team ' where women and men are together playing on Thursday night, register by Oct 6 for games beginning Oct 21. There will be a total of eight games. Contact Park Woodle at 641-891-2335 or pwoodle@iowatelecom.net.

WHERE TO NOW TRAVEL ALERT
We will be leaving the church at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning Sept. 28 to travel to The Old Country Store and Antique Exchange at Exline, IA (we have lunch reservations there). It is near Centerville. Van cost $3.00 per person. Calling Committee will take reservations soon.
