Reminder - "Fiesta VBS" Starts this Sunday!


WHEN: Sunday, July 21st-Tuesday, July 23rd & Thursday, July 25th-Friday, July 26th
5:30 p.m. Supper & 6:00-8:15 p.m. Bible School
WHERE: First United Methodist Church, 313 East Montgomery, Knoxville
WHY: To get fired up about Jesus!
WHO: Anyone between age 3 and 5th grade.
HOW: Fill out the registration and return it to the church office.

*Parents - you are invited to the closing on Friday night at 8:00 p.m.*

VBS DONATIONS
The list for FIESTA VBS donations is on the table outside the office.  We are in need of a few items for crafts and the meal.  If you would like to donate, please sign your name and phone # to the list and take the tear off slip with you.  All donations need to be placed in the collection bin labeled “Fiesta VBS Donations” in the narthex by noon on Friday, July 19.  Thanks for your help and support!!

TENT SETUP
On Saturday, July 20th at 8:00 a.m. we will need help setting up the big tent on the church lawn that will be used for VBS and RAGBRAI. 

CHILDREN’S CHURCH VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED
The next Children’s Church will take place on Sunday, July 21st at the 9:00 a.m. service with additional dates to follow on July 28th and August 25thIf you would like to volunteer to help with Children’s Church, please contact the church office.

Serving will start at 11:00 a.m. on Wed, July 24th and continue until we run out of chicken & noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, and homemade fruit pie.  Pies are very special to the riders!  If you are a pie maker, we want your expertise!  30 pies are still needed for this event.  If you are not a baker, frozen fruit pies will also work. Pies can be made at home and brought to the church.   Many are needed to help with this event.  Sign-up sheets for workers and pie makers are in the Narthex.

PANCAKES VOLUNTEERS
Yes, we will do the pancakes at the Armory as we have done before.  This is served by our church to benefit the church and the Chamber.  Ask Kay Jensen if you have questions.  Sign-up sheets are available in the Narthex for Wed, August 7 through Sat, Aug 10.

NURSERY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The nursery is one of the places in church where volunteers serve two ministries at once. First to the children, and second to the parents who are able to focus their attention on worship and/or Sunday school with confidence their child is in excellent care.  Volunteers are needed to staff the nursery during the Sunday 9:00 a.m. service.   A sign-up sheet is in the Narthex. 


CHILDREN’S CHURCH
The next Children’s Church will take place on Sunday, July 21st at the 9:00 a.m. service.  Children’s Church will be the children dismissed after the children’s time to go down stairs for 30 minutes of story, crafts, and games.  The kids can be picked up downstairs after the church service.  This will be an extended learning time for children ages 2 through 5th grade.  If you would like to volunteer to help with Children’s Church, please contact the church office.
