THIS WEEKEND
Communion - The United Methodist Church has an open communion. All are invited to join in the celebration of God’s love!
NHN Collection - A special collection is taken the first weekend of every month. These funds go through the Neighbor Helping Neighbor office to help community needs. Please mark your check memo and/or envelope to identify this purpose to contribute.
NEW THIS WEEK!
VBS VOLUNTEERS
Come join the Fiesta July 21 through 26 from 5:30 until 8:15 (no VBS on July 24 due to RAGBRAI). Helpers are still needed in all areas. Sign up to help create God's Fiesta and provide a great opportunity to children across our community to learn about His love! Registration forms are available in the Narthex window. Spread the FIESTA to all your kids, grandkids, and neighbors. Call Katie Bishop at 641-891-1342 to sign up to help.
RAGBRAI VOLUNTEERS/DONATIONS
Serving will start at 11:00 a.m. on Wed, July 24th and continue until we run out of chicken & noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, and homemade fruit pie. Pies are very special to the riders! If you are a pie maker, we want your expertise! 30 pies are still needed for this event. If you are not a baker, frozen fruit pies will also work. Pies can be made at home and brought to the church. Many are needed to help with this event. Sign-up sheets for workers and pie makers are in the Narthex.
PANCAKES VOLUNTEERS
Yes, we will do the pancakes at the Armory as we have done before. This is served by our church to benefit the church and the Chamber. Ask Kay Jensen if you have questions. Sign-up sheets are available in the Narthex for Wed, August 7 through Sat, Aug 10.
NURSERY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The nursery is one of the places in church where volunteers serve two ministries at once. First to the children, and second to the parents who are able to focus their attention on worship and/or Sunday school with confidence their child is in excellent care. Volunteers are needed to staff the nursery during the Sunday 9:00 a.m. service. A sign-up sheet is in the Narthex.
CHILDREN’S CHURCH
The next Children’s Church will take place on Sunday, July 21st at the 9:00 a.m. service. Children’s Church will be the children dismissed after the children’s time to go down stairs for 30 minutes of story, crafts, and games. The kids can be picked up downstairs after the church service. This will be an extended learning time for children ages 2 through 5th grade. If you would like to volunteer to help with Children’s Church, please contact the church office.
