MEALS ON WHEELS DELIVERY

FUMC is scheduled to deliver Senior Nutrition/Meals on Wheels September 19th-October 14th.   Signup sheets for volunteers to deliver the meals are located on the table in the main entry way of the church. Thank you for your participation in this valuable program.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES

While school supplies are on sale, think about purchasing supplies for In-Gathering School Kits.   School kits provide tools for education, which changes lives.  In countries where children don’t have books, school supplies or classrooms, a school kit may be their only educational resource.   We need:

3 notebooks – wide ruled

1 box of 24 crayons

1 30 cm metric ruler

1 hand pencil sharpener

1 blunt scissors

1 2 1/2” eraser

6 unsharpened pencils with erasers

Empty school bags

THANK YOU
Dear Church Family, Thank you so much for your continued support spiritually, emotionally and financially.  I am blessed to be surrounded by such caring people.  Thanks again!!!  Sincerely, Kaurie

Volunteers are needed to help paint the outside of the of the Zion United Methodist Church in Pershing.   This is a (MUMMS) work project that will begin Monday, September 12 through September 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m.  Any amount of time you can help is appreciated.  Contact the FUMC office if you are interested in helping.

DISCOVERY SUNDAY

Why?
People want to experience the power of God in daily life. According to a George Gallup study, American Christians rate "the spiritual growth of one's family and self as the top priority that congregations should be addressing.

What?
1.    Discovery Weekend encourages and invites individuals who choose to participate in a six-week Bible study and prayer development experience.
2.       Discovery Groups help individuals discover the power of prayer and what Jesus taught regarding spiritual growth.  Consisting of not more than ten persons each, the groups meet weekly for one hour, using the study guide "Spiritual Growth Insights from Mark's Gospel".

Discovery Weekend coming September 17 and 18 with Dynamic guest preachers.   Plan to join us!

PRAYER WESLEY COVENANT PRAYER
I am no longer my own, but thine.   Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt.  Put me to doing, put me to suffering.  Let me be employed by thee or laid aside for thee, exalted for thee or brought low for thee.   Let me be full, let me be empty.   Let me have all things, let me have nothing.   I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal.  And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, though art mine, and I am thine.  So be it.   And the covenant which I have made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven.  Amen.
